      Pros

      It has been a year since I started working at Avetta and my experience has been nothing but gratifying. I am surrounded with people who take pride in their work along with an intelligent, approachable, and supportive management team that work hard to make sure we have everything we need to get the job done right. As someone relatively new to software development, I could not have picked a better company to work for. On the engineering team, we are constantly encouraged to challenge ourselves, think big and not be afraid to make mistakes. Using innovative tools and technology, we are given all the necessary resources and support we need to create a product that is a pleasure for clients to use. There is also a lot of room to grow within the company.

      If you are not a person who is self-motivated and eager to learn, you will not fit in here

      Perhaps related to Billy, Frank Ocean once said, "Work hard in silence, let success make the noise". Avetta's engineers seem strangely happy, uncannily satisfied, diligently focused. Perhaps all that room to create, iterate and innovate is a recipe for satisfaction. Avetta too has delighted in you for the past year. We are humbled by your intelligence and grateful for all that you do.

      Avetta continues to amaze! Presidents Club 2017 in Cabo San Lucas was over the top, from the airport to the beach the team spent 4 action packed days exploring and relaxing. Golf, sailing, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, relaxation spa, oh and the food! Never had so much fun in such a short period with incredible people. Employees of Avetta are all top notch, so proud to be part of the Avetta family couldn't ask for a better team. What a great way to thank employees for their contribution to the organization. One of the best parts of Avetta's culture is everyone has a voice, treat it like it's your own company, they will listen and look after you like no other.

      Cons

      Sad its over but looking forward to earning my spot next year, hope to see some new faces in 2018 :D!

      Constantly Moving Forward

      - With new management we were given the opportunity to improve out infrastructure and tools for building/deploying and managing out software - New stack: Elm front-end, Play2, Scala/Java, NodeJS, Docker, MongoDB - Separating the existing platform into services - Many opportunities to learn and grow - Work as a member of a cross-functional team, DevOps, Engineering, QA, Product Management - Flexible with work hours, provided you're getting your working done on time - Helpful team members - Finally past the daily fire-drills - Engineering team has a lot of energy

      Cons

      - Sometimes things change quickly, sometimes day-to-day and communicating changes to the team can be challenging - Still working to improve alignment of priorities in our cross-functional team, but we're getting there :)

      Hear that? It is your standing ovation for all of your time and all of your work within the Engineering team. You are amazing and everyone can see it. We should not say this. We've contemplated keeping it from you. But... The only constant is change. With tongue firmly planted in cheek, YOU already know this truth. Please hold your head high in the face of change. Please stand firm in all that you contribute to the dynamic team. But learn that change is part of Avetta's DNA. While Avetta would love to appease every appetite for change, the company knows that not all appreciate the evolution of the organization. Rest assured, we are all in this together. Lastly, thank you out loud, thank you from the mountain tops, thank you in the small glances of appreciation that come your way. It is our honor to have you on the team.
