Pros

They hired me - and others - with a modicum of experience. My department had an encyclopedic-level of documentation that they provided for training. The technology provided while working remotely was top notch and was delivered seamlessly.

Cons

I was informed that I was getting fired when HR accidentally sent me an email with separation documentation three hours prior to my supervisor inviting me to the meeting where he would fire me. Thinking it was an error, I replied to HR that they were mistaken since I hadn't given notice, and I forwarded the email to my supervisor jokingly asking if I needed to be concerned. Neither replied. I was surprised they fired me despite having received a poor work performance review. It was the only indication that my work was not up to par because I didn't receive any other feedback, even when I directly asked for it - I was always directed to review the reams of documentation to ensure my work was meeting standard.

Pros

Free food, Fun events, Golf, Swag, alcohol, parties, over the top holiday celebrations.

Cons

Work from home switch without shifting expectations for a different work environment. Value number of phone calls over percentage of closed sales. Yes, I work from home. Yes, I kept my job during a pandemic. No shift in mindset from the supervisors. I am now a work at home single mom, make shift educator, house keeper and more. I still get judged based on my number of calls I make per day. I am fully responsible for everything in life since working at home. While I appreciate that I kept my job, it would be valuable for supervisors to realize the impact of Covid on every aspect of our lives, not just the economy, working situation and amount of money I bring to the company. I have loved my job until now. I am mentally and emotionally exhausted and socially starved for non child/customer interactions. All that is important to my boss is the number of dials. I’m struggling with dials due to my children being home. I’m struggling as a single mom. Avetta doesn’t care. Avetta just wants the money.

Unorganized and Chaotic Company

Pros

The paycheck has never bunched (yet)

Cons

The software engineering department is very unorganized and the leadership team doesn’t value people or show respect to them. Their software systems are a mess, poorly developed and extremely difficult to maintain or add functionality to them. Lack of common software processes (documentation, code freeze, QA process, deployment process, etc.), even things that seem basic just aren’t happening here. Many (myself included) are on our way out the door. Any competent engineer should steer clear of Avetta.
