Pros

Remote Helping clinicians Amazing Co-Workers

Cons

The so-called "voluntary incentive package with continued benefits" is essentially a severance package—let's call it what it is: a layoff. It seems the company is using euphemisms and obfuscation to avoid admitting that a mistake was made when Alan promised on stage in Vegas that there would be no layoffs. Now, due to the current market conditions, layoffs are indeed necessary. When the EVP delivered the news that top performers would be losing $12k a year in bonuses, senior recruiters would need to achieve 20% growth to retain their titles, and commissions might be cut in half, she did so with a laugh and a smile. Aya's comment that this affects only a small portion of people might be technically true, but it overlooks the significant impact on those affected. Previously, many senior recruiters are now facing commission cuts with just one month's notice and no time to adjust. Essentially, those who were promoted last quarter are now being told that their previous performance levels are no longer acceptable.

Pros

Aya is completely pushing loyal employees out

Cons

I have LOVED working here, from when I first got hired I felt I was on a great team, the goal/tier structures were fair, and ramping up meant more money. After working so hard to get a double promotion and feeling comfortable in my desk/pay, the company does a complete 180 and cuts my pay by $18k, cuts my commission in half, removes any chance of hitting a bonus, in an ALREADY saturated and increasingly difficult market to ramp up in. When I first joined, most recruiters on my team had 80-100 nurses while now all of those high performers are around 60-80 just due to the market changing. I thought this would mean Aya would adjust commissions/goals to adhere to this... but NOPE! They just decided to push people out and make anyone under 60 nurses feel like they have to quit due to unlivable wages. All with under 1 month notice... I am heartbroken. To add to all of this, my manager is micromanaging me for the first time EVER and sending me screenshots of everything I do. We are constantly being told to work on weekends and more recently asked us if we planned to work on Juneteenth and July 4th... WTF? I am already hitting 10 hour days. It's uncomfortable, I thought I would stay at Aya forever but a company that does this to it's employees? Not what I thought the company values/standards were.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback. As Aya continues to grow, we’re constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and clinicians, which often requires an internal shift in processes, team structures and other areas of the organization. Even with the recent changes, our compensation structure continues to reward the majority of our recruiters and ensures they are paid at the top of the market. Working on company holidays is an option provided to team members, with approval from their manager. Recruitment leadership asks if anyone plans to work holidays to ensure there is adequate operational support provided for them to make the most efficient use of their time. Full-time team members are paid double time for hours worked plus 8 hours of holiday pay. If you’d like to connect further, please email our Chief People Officer, Amber Zeeb, at ayafeedback@ayahealthcare.com so we can address your concerns. Thank you.

Pros

Aya Healthcare used to be a great company where you felt like they cared about you, at least on the surface. Now it’s clear that what they care about most is their profit margins. From spending millions for the Vegas party in November to announcing no lay offs were going to happen to now endless layoffs, pressure to hit unrealistic goals in a saturated market with declining rates by working on weekends and nights, and being discouraged to take already approved time off. Top down leadership styles, and treating you like you’re a number who is highly expendable. Churn and burn remote environment that feels like a sweatshop. PIPs happening left and right. A company shows its true colors when they aren’t performing well and employees are blamed without any responsibility on management practices or leadership styles. This company generates 566 million a year and decides to invest in its image more than its people. Must like to drink corporate kool aid to work here or be in the top 1%. Cares more about profit margins than the nurses they claim to serve.

Cons

No work life balance Discouraged to take approved time off Profit is more important than people Encouraged to work nights and weekends High pressure to meet unrealistic expectations No regard for mental wellbeing just numbers Increasingly corporate
