As many have said, it was good until it wasn’t and it went downhill fast. Aya was promising as it grew with the pandemic. Workloads were unmanageable with the large influx of people in the market, but with process improvements and proper hiring, it became a very positive and fulfilling place to be. There were definitely days where you truly could check off everything on your list and log off at the end of the day feeling like you had a successful & productive day with a clear checklist for the next day. We were able to be more selective with our time and prioritization when it came to urgency of tasks, and we were even able to be a bit more selective of who exactly we worked with and not tolerate horrible treatment when it came to our travelers to our corporate employees. I should have known after several years of no cost of living raises, and then when it was announced that our benefits would be changing that something was wrong, but with the Vegas celebration happening at the same time, everything seemed to be okay - Alan even promised that it was in Vegas. Then, at the drop of a hat, we are back to working ourselves to death with not enough people to split the load between and with no end in sight since the market is no longer completed flooded and growing to give us the profit we need to continue to stay properly staffed and continue to improve our processes. Instead, employees have now all have heard the whispers of more automation and moving work offshores to cut additional costs, so everyone knows it is a matter of time before more employees are left high and dry by Aya under the disguise of “not performing well enough” and needing to “pivot.” Which leaves little to no sense of job security because metrics and SLAs are now unrealistic and have not been adjusted to meet where the company is currently at with workloads. This means many employees are taking every bit of extra time they are “allowed” to work OT/Holidays and are even quietly working off the clock, not taking lunches/breaks, getting on early/staying of late without getting paid because the OT time offered is so limited and no one wants to get on anyones radar of not performing “excellently” to be the next gone. Employees are being stretched thin and having the pressure applied to get the job done no matter the consequences to themselves and their families, but disguised under a veil of “it is completely optional! Take your breaks and time off!” No one believes that because metrics and workloads are still being watched closely and micromanaged for mistakes. Employees have begged for honesty and transparency only to be offered redundant and generic “we know it is hard right now, do your best” messaging while watching more employees be let go. It is so sad and heartbreaking to see the complete nose dive Aya has taken in the last 6 months.
