Pros

Look at the positive reviews here, they are almost entirely from nurses. If you're a nurse who is fine with the exploitive US healthcare system that allows hospitals to pay part time nurses 2x as much as their full time staff, you may fit in here.

Cons

Far and away the most unethical, exploitive, immature, inept and downright mean-spirited people you will ever have the misfortune to work with. Like a high school production of "Mean Girls" directed by somebody who is deep on the spectrum. Innovation is not encouraged. You are expected to toe the line and the overall culture is one of oppressive fear. Maybe you've read some management books on leadership that talk about empowerment and spurring innovation amongst your senior managers. They have not read those books. These people could write a book about being sycophantic toads to a maniacal autocrat who makes poor decisions on a daily basis that you're expected to applaud. Their back office is a chaotic mess across the board, their culture is the textbook definition of toxic, their leadership is emblematic of a high school clique. A mean one. Stay far far far away. Like the proverbial pig who finds an acorn occasionally rooting in mud they may have stumbled upon a money making scheme to exploit the pandemic, but poor management like this always comes home to roost.

Pros

Remote first company! Wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to yank that away though.

Cons

Just like all the other reviews recently, this place has turned itself into an awful place to work. Where do I start? Useless scrum masters who try to hold way too many meetings - anti pattern in agile. What does the technical product team even do? Pat themselves on the back so they can give themselves value and fool the organization to keep employing them. Oh yeah also our useless scrum master tried to get the team to adopt a board that tracks our feelings daily. But she assured us “it won’t be used against you”. What kind of environment are they trying to create in here? It is so true that senior leadership is toxic, they yell at people in meetings! And I guess people are disappearing now too. So layoffs?….

Pros

-Positive outlook toward remote workers -Unlimited time off -Decent benefits for a private company

Cons

-The promote-from-within culture has positives; however, there are those in upper leadership who have been there for 10+ years that may not be the correct people for their roles -The organizational changes that started in the back-half of 2023 have continued through 2024. Aya has not done a good job of executing the change management -The CEO stated in November of '23 that there was not going to be any layoffs and 8 months later Aya has laid off 15% of their corporate workforce

We appreciate your feedback. Our leadership team is committed to our mission of ensuring that patients have the best caregiver when they need it most. To deliver on this, especially throughout the pandemic, we grew our workforce to meet the needs of patients nationwide, while also making sure our corporate employees had manageable workloads. As the market has shifted, we’re currently evaluating every team to ensure we have the right people in the right positions. We wanted to handle this in the most compassionate and thoughtful way possible, which to us was making voluntary offers with generous severance amounts and providing advanced notice and benefit continuation.
