Pros

Paid medical benefits are nice

Cons

If you are not willing to push everything in you life aside for BHG then you will not be successful or respected at this company. To make that crystal clear there are posters in the offices detailing the 9 traits of success at BHG, two of which are "Dosent know the end of the day" and "Personal life sacrifice." There is no respect for any work life balance, you are expected to make BHG the number one priority in your life. Ownership also makes this clear at every monthly meeting, telling everyone how lucky they are to work there and if your not a "runner" (code for workaholic) then you should leave. The place is so utterly disorganized, no one knows what will happen the next day. Projects are either on fire or no one cares. Dates are arbitrarily made up then dumped on the teams that actually do the work with the expectation that everyone will work 70hr weeks to get it done. People are fired constantly with no warning and there was an ever present fear of being fired at any moment. It was a common Monday morning question of "Hey where is so and so?" "Oh they were let go on Friday". Couple that with the mass exodus of people voluntarily leaving the company for the reasons above plus a litany of others, most of the company technical knowledge is gone. In addition to all of the toxic leadership and poor operations, the company walks an ethical grey line by selling high interest personal loans to people that are disguised as commercial loans so they can avoid reporting the loans to credit agencies. Then almost immediately they turn around and sell those high interest loans to banks at a quarter of the interest rate and pocket the difference. I do not see longevity in this business.

Thank you for recognizing BHG for our generous, fully employer-paid medical benefits. As you noted, our CEO is communicative during company-wide meetings. He is often heard telling people to take vacations, work out during the day, and build in breaks in order to avoid burnout. Turnover is something the entire US is experiencing at unprecedented rates. If you google “the great resignation,” you will find many articles on the topic. As for the “grey line” you speak of, we are 100% confident that our processes and systems are not only compliant but rise above that of our competition. We have created a stable of on-staff former federal examiners, with over 100 years of collective experience, in order to ensure best practices. It appears while in your role on our product team, you were not well informed on our loan processes. We are sorry that our relationship wasn’t mutually beneficial, but we cannot agree with the misinformation you have posted on this review. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

Work from home and wellness days

Cons

What was once a really great place to work is no longer. try to look pass the reviews that were obviously added by people on top. The reviews that matter are the by the ones doing the job. Our pay was changed several times. At the end of my time here, I can say it is unlivable. Loan processors work nonstop for submissions. To the point where we made up for account executives not executing. The people on top have no idea what it takes to do the job. They preach open door policy but then you are shamed for it.

Thanks for taking the time to submit feedback. We must acknowledge the tough economic environment that many companies, not only BHG Financial, are facing. We’d certainly like to continue business as usual, but crucial decisions must be made to avoid having a larger impact on the team. All decisions on pay and workload were adjusted according to industry benchmarks and standards. On top of this, a path to different sales roles were offered to many Loan Processors. We always strive to work as one team, and that includes Account Executives who do a great job for the company. Alongside our compensation, we’re proud to offer extensive perks and benefits focused on employee health and wellness, including remote work options and 12 Wellness Weekends annually, as you mentioned. This company was started 23 years ago with the idea of providing amazing financial solutions to our borrowers and clients. We highly value feedback from all team members, believing that honest and constructive input is crucial for continuous improvement. We remain committed to making BHG Financial a supportive and rewarding workplace for all. If you have any further feedback or suggestions, please reach out to us at people@bhg-inc.com. In the meantime, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
