Pros

Pto, wellness day, remote work

Cons

Everything. I have been with this company over 4 years now, and things have changed drastically. BHG was once a good company, but these last couple of years have been nothing short of a nightmare. We have had over 6 pay plan changes in the last year, and each change cuts our income down significantly. The newest commission plan is a slap in the face to the people in this department. We are currently on a stack ranking, VALUE ADD plan that makes absolutely no sense at all especially since lead distribution is unfair & people can send 100+ leads less than you, and add more value since they of course have a lower margin. Meanwhile you’re actually making the company hundreds of thousands more but may end up with a $100 commission check for that month if you don’t stack rank how they think you should based on hypothetical numbers they pulled out the sky. It’s absurd how they think it’s ok to pay anyone $100 a month in commission for all the work they expect us to do with every file. Our salary is extremely low, and people were ok with that when we had a fair commission plan, now most loan processors will not be making a livable wage if they decide to stay. Also, ATTENTION NEW HIRES: if you’re interviewing they will not tell you about the commission plan which seems off since they’re adamant about not making any changes even though people are quitting like crazy, and morale is lower than it’s ever been. Anytime you have a valid question they might not like they will 9x out of 10 gaslight you, and retaliate against you. Working for this company especially this department feels like you’re in a mentally a*usive relationship due to the tactics that are used. The company also needs training when it comes to working with people of certain backgrounds because the company lacks diversity in a major way, and you can tell when dealing with certain people sadly. You will be constantly singled out/ micromanaged / bullied by the AE department, and made to feel like you’re their assistant, and it is encouraged by management. There’s so much more that I can say, but I’m going to end with this … don’t waste your valuable time working here if you have ANY other options. This company has shown time & time again they don’t care about their employees. I’m sure whoever is responding to these reviews will just leave the same generic gaslighting response about wellness days, and their pay plan being one of the bests in the industry which is truly laughable. Also a lot of the response’s are untruthful too , and management leaves fake reviews which is disappointing because people come to sites like these to read TRUE reviews & information about a company they’re considering working for.

Pros

Bhg wellness days pto and remote just about only things left that are great. Management in each department are somewhat understanding and kind

Cons

If you notice all of the good reviews left propping up the rating for the company are by senior management employees. Company hired and tried to grow tremendously during a great time for lending. While in the beginning this was awesome for employees, meeting goal targets, other cash opportunities available. Now this is not the case with most earning very base pay across the industry. Before bhg benefits were amazing with leading industry 401k, remote, wellness days, bonus opportunities, generous pto, paid insurance. Now we only have remote and wellness days really to look forward to. The rest is industry average and bonus is constantly used to justify low salaried wages amongst employees. Without all of the benefits that were once great. Hard to justify the low wages people earn. A lot of great people are leaving now. Ownership senior management are almost pushing people out the door it feels like to avoid another layoff. A lot of people in my department feel under appreciated— although thank you letters are nice and appreciated they do not pay the bills for most. A lot of people are nice in my department but with the economic challenges this company is facing, one can foresee a ton of turnover across the company I want to say also I am currently a high performer in my department to combat any sort of deflection from this review

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns. BHG Financial not only values but also encourages feedback from every member of the team across all levels and departments, so that we can grow together and truly be a great place to work. With that said, we’d like to provide some important insight regarding your concerns. Since 2001, we’ve experienced explosive growth, which takes more than luck. For a business to be successful in all types of economic environments, it must embrace the idea that change is constant. This mindset is part of the reason we’ve always been able to withstand a variety of obstacles. However, the current economic environment has proven to be challenging for many employees and employers alike. We can assure you our commitment to providing a comprehensive and competitive compensation package remains steadfast. While some things may have changed, we continue to offer valuable perks and benefits such as health insurance (including vision and dental), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, remote work opportunities, 20 days of PTO for seasoned employees, Wellness Weekends, and much more. We are always evaluating ways to enhance our offerings, with compensation and bonuses structured to be fair and performance-based, reflecting both individual and company-wide achievements. On that note, communication from leadership is meant to be open, transparent, and inclusive as we provide high-level updates about the organization. We truly believe it’s imperative to foster an environment where the team feels appreciated and recognized for their hard work and dedication. It’s disappointing to hear you’re not fully enjoying your time with us here at BHG Financial and encourage you to reach out to your direct manager as well as our team at people@bhg-inc.com.

Great Benefits, Chaotic Management

Pros

The bulk of the benefits are great, insurance for spouse is reduced pricing compared to other companies, and getting the 3rd Friday off each month is a nice perk.

Cons

Management (C-level) does not know how to steer the ship. One meeting they’re telling you the company is posting great profits and the next minute you’re laid off (this was within 2 weeks of each other).

This review is disappointing and does not reflect the commitment BHG has to its employees. It is the intent of the BHG leadership team to put together an operating plan that will allow the company and its employees to continue to achieve positive results. Like many other companies, we continue to face a difficult macroeconomic backdrop, meaning leadership must take into consideration many factors before making a tough decision on personnel. These decisions are never taken lightly. With that said, we make it a point to build up every member of the team with the very best tools, support, and leadership to ensure success. As you mentioned, BHG continues to offer great perks and benefits like covered health insurance, Wellness Weekends in addition to generous PTO, remote work opportunities, and so much more. Employee health and wellness is truly a top priority for us. As always, BHG will continue to keep our employees top of mind as we push forward. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
