      Company direction and culture didn't always jive with me.

      Pros

      I was able to work with quality people, and those people did strive to do a great job.

      Cons

      There was an uneven pressure put on by the management team, and there were simply too many barriers to success to provide a quality customer experience in all cases.

      Pros

      Wide range of good quality software products. Some great upper executive management (VP and above). Pay and benefits are great compared to mean.

      Cons

      Middle and lower management are really poor (AVP and below). A lot of dead weight, even at the individual contributor level. No real enablement program to assist B-level talent to get to the next level. A LOT of talk about enablement programs, but it seldom goes anywhere. A few A-players carry 90% of the load. Non-Sales/Pre-Sales roles are really an afterthought. Concur with other posters that this company is full of bureaucracy and politics. It is common place for managers to take the credit for their employees' success, and throw their employees under the bus for poor decisions.

      I stayed for a long time, but I'm not sure why.

      Pros

      Reasonable work/life balance. Interesting development work. Used to be a lot of very sharp people. Most workers are nice colleagues.

      Cons

      Engineers are treated as interchangeable cogs. Very little appreciation for experience and skill. Mgmt pushes very hard for unattainable short schedule projections. Mgmt is too concerned with assigning blame for problems. Lots of favoritism. Frequent layoffs affect morale.
