Pros
First of all, I would start by saying that I have never worked for a company more motivated and driven to take care of their employees as well as please the customer with the amazing work they bring. I have worked for two prior contracting companies and BTS has been the most pleasing to work for due to their high standard in keeping their employees happy.
The management all the way from Tom Bohne who hired me, on up to the CEO David Tohn, have been wonderful in setting me up for success. That is not where it stops though, they have also spoken to me in person on what my future goals were and ways that they can help to try and mentor me to reach my future goals. They have gone out of their way in multiple occasion to assist co workers with pay advances, as well as making sure that our medical and dental coverage would leave us with little to no charge out of our own pockets.
The one thing that has also amazed me the most is the way the company has set their benefits plans and packages to make it easier for us as employees to have to do very little and have a lot of things covered for the contract I am on. Being that I am a Deployed position, the less I worry and pay for the better.
Being a salaried employee has been a huge benefit for the contract I am on. There have been many weeks where I have had travel and holding phases where we can only charge 8 hours, but since I am Salary I get paid the same based on a 12 hour work day. If I were ever to work more than 12 hours I would also get paid the extra hours, so for me this was the no brainier and completely beneficial for myself as well as any others with BTS on the CIAT contract.
BENEFITS: Paid 20 days of R&R (Leave) as well as a travel stipend of $500 for flights is a huge plus which I know for a fact other companies on my contract do not even have. All of the flights to and from Afghanistan are paid by BTS, which flying out of El Paso which is a small airport on my way home can be really expensive. Full Medical and Dental while deployed, 401K with a 4% matching is great which not a lot of companies offer. Referral bonus of 2,500 dollars when you bring someone on as an employee to the company.
The ability to talk to my management about any issues while being Deployed in another country and them to be able to act fast and try to resolve it and them come up with a solution to try and fix it makes the environment I work in so comfortable, especially when I know I will always be backed by leadership.
Overall I am super pleased with the company and hoping to pursue a career within the company after returning from deployment. I am so pleased with BTS that I have referred many people to come and work with a team that is all about their employees but most importantly getting the mission done!
Cons
To this day I have no cons that I can say about the company and I am sure it will continue to stay this way.
