Pros

Throughout my time with BTS, the leadership was accessible at every level and responsive to the needs of employees, which could be argued even at the short term expense of the company itself. The salary as a sub company was fair, but came with healthy benefits to close the gap with prime salaries. While it didn't close the gap completely, the morale boost those benefits provided were invaluable. At all times the company was communicative and has positioned themselves in such a way that contract bidding instability can insulate their employees from some of the fears associated with military contracting. The company has continued to be supportive after I chose to part ways with the company and provided invaluable insight to ensure I would not sell myself short in my new position. While I parted ways for personal reasons, I would go back to the company in a heartbeat given an opportunity that aligned with my families needs.

Cons

At the time BTS only had deployed positions that made it impossible to have real longevity with the company at the time. Multiple changes to health insurance packages combined with a few HR issues left gaps in health coverage for my family. Some of the benefits for stateside employees was not available for deployed contractors (paternity leave for example)

Sir/Ma’am, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback to BTS. Your insights mean a great deal to us. All thoughts and recommendations arm us with information ensuring we maintain a great company culture and gives us a gauge to evaluate our performance and support to employees. We would like to take this opportunity to address a few of your concerns. PTO: You are correct. BTS does not provide PTO for our deployed employees. Instead, we provide all deployed employees with the opportunity to take up to 40 days Leave without Pay (LWOP). With that, we incentivize all deployed employees by providing a $7,500.00 bonus at the end of a 365 day deployment if they do not use more than 20 days of the authorized 40 days of leave. We also provide a $500 dollar stipend to all employees to assist in the cost of their tickets. In total, a deployed employee can earn up to $8,000.00 towards leave, significantly offsetting the cost of LWOP. EOC flight to HOR: If an employee is deployed for 365 days or more, BTS does reimburse for their trip from CRC to their HOR. Once an employee arrives at their HOR, they are required to send their flight receipt/itinerary to the PM/PMO. The PM/PMO will submit this document to finance for reimbursement and the funds are deposited when possible. If you were unaware of this, we recommend that you contact the BTS PM/PMO for potential reimbursement. Thank you again for your service to the Mission and the Nation and we wish you the best of luck going forward.

Pros

Great Experience altogether so far - Recruitment process was easy and to the point. Recruiter kept in contact throughout the months leading up to my departure - During the training week in Virginia, the David (CEO) personally drove down to meet with myself and another BTS employee IOT welcome us to the company and answer any questions that we had. (The food was amazing as well so that’s a plus) - The professionalism of everyone that I’ve dealt with in the company thus far has been extraordinary, and I’ve had to deal with quite a few of them for personal reasons - Had an emergency issue where I needed a pay advance and it was handled within 24 hours - The benefits are great for me and my family

Cons

only "complaint" I have and it isn't even a big deal is that we get paid monthly instead of on the 1st and 15th, but like I said...not even a big deal

We are glad that the recruitment and on-boarding experience demonstrates our values as a company and as a team of professionals. Our people is who we are and we want to make sure everyone is taken care of. We appreciate the comment about our monthly pay cycle. We have found that it simplifies and reduces the costs and administrative burden in working the payroll process, allowing us to focus on taking care of our customers and our people. We understand the transition from bi-weekly to monthly pay cycles can be a challenge when people join the team and have a liberal policy of pay advances to help bridge.
