Pros

As a new BAC employee - and former employee of a Fortune 60 Company - the first thing I noticed was the welcoming climate and more relaxed change of pace. Whether it is owing to the company's structure as an ESOP or being privately-held, the working environment is not as frantic and numbers driven as a publicly-traded company. Moreover, the size of the company permits quicker and more direct access to the people, resources, and decisions, you need to be productive. The quality of employees is high; as is their engagement into the success of the company. There is no "We vs. Them" mentality... it is all about "Us". Again, a very welcome change of culture. HR's on-boarding process is par excellence and adept at making new workers feel wanted and appreciated from Day One. As part of the on-boarding process, new hires are encouraged to reach out and meet with Executive Management team members. What you'll find is that your engagement with them doesn't stop there... you'll continue to interact with them on a weekly or monthly basis, eat with them in the cafeteria, and have deep discussions about your career objectives and opportunities.

Cons

Anyone coming from a larger company might be challenged initially by some of the bulkiness of the electronic information systems. However, with a little patience, you can easily navigate the maze of different reporting systems to get what you need.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We are thrilled to read your positive comments regarding BAC's climate and your on-boarding! We work hard to ensure our objectives are well planned, and connected to our strategy. In this way, our teams have clear direction, and there is good alignment on business activities. We are very focused on our company results, but the investment in planning may contribute to the ‘less frantic pace’ you reference. Your on-boarding experience is very important to us. We want you to have the necessary tools and knowledge to be as successful as you can be in your role as you start your career with BAC, and hopefully well into the future. We appreciate your feedback on the electronic information systems. We are currently working on a number of initiatives to connect our systems around the world for a more integrated solution. We value your feedback and any ideas you have for how we can improve. Please feel free to connect with your manager, our Director of IT, or any of the leadership team members.

Pros

ESOP, benefits package, at one time a lot of good employees.

Cons

I worked for this Company in corporate in Jessup, MD for over 10+ years. It "used" to be a very good company to work for. Management used to actually cared about their employees. Several years ago, the president of the company changed and everything went downhill. Employees who had been with the company were no longer valued or appreciated. If you didn't let them guide you around like a "puppet", they let you go. Good, hardworking employees who made that company successful. Unless you want to be a "yes man" and have NO chance of advancement I'd look elsewhere for employment. There are much better companies out there with better pay who actually care about their employees and want them to grow within their company. Don't even think about going to HR. All they do is look the other way, or sweep things under the rug.

I appreciate you taking the time to review BAC although I have to admit that I'm disappointed that you feel this way. I've been with BAC for about 9 months, and I can assure you that the leadership team here cares very deeply about our employees. This past year, we've worked very hard to build a people strategy that puts learning and development at the front of our agenda, and provides opportunities for continued growth to employees who perform well and demonstrate an interest. Our business cannot thrive without the best employees, especially in customer-facing roles. Additionally, we've restructured our Corporate HR department to align more closely with each department and provide for better business partnership. I can assure you that any concerns raised to me or my team will receive our full attention. I would be interested in hearing from you to understand more about your specific experience so that we can correct anything that might be wrong. Please feel free to contact me directly when you can at bachr@baltimoreaircoil.com .
