Pros

Benefits were good, free bananas, cool t-shirts

Cons

I mean, pretty much everything. Sales management is full of themselves and they spent a lot of time basically berating employees with fear tactics and bullying. 80% of the account management team left the company over a 4-6 month period due to these “management” tactics. If you aren’t a “Yes Man/Woman”, you get put on a plan whether you are performing or not. They prey on people taking this job as a stepping stone job out of school and some people don’t know any better.

Pros

- Healthcare Benefits including a 1.5 hr workout lunch break - Solid in the carrier side of the business - Room for growth internationally - CEO is a wonderful guy

Cons

- Pay is comical - Extremely high turn-over - False promises for compensation. Only about 1/15th of the sales team gets remotely close to Quota. - Saturated market for VoIP deals. Not nearly enough to go around. - Well behind competitors in the messaging/API space. If you are looking to move into telecom for the first time this is not going to be a good place to start. Very unorganized and they create a somewhat hostile environment for working together.

Pros

Benefits, younger crowd for those just graduating, 90 minute lunch

Cons

Where to start. I was at Bandwidth for about a year. Speaking to porting or LNP was a nightmare. You are a customer service representative in a call center pretty much. They try to mask it with another title but the job is customer service. You get treated like a doormat but have to smile because you're interacting with the customers. I've seen the theme across the board. Very low pay compared to the industry and the area. Was struggling just to pay for monthly expenses. Managers are great at micro managing while at the same time making themselves look busy. Had the attitude of a teacher trying to baby everyone. I was not treated as a working professional with a college degree, rather a child. COVID response was an absolute joke. Work from home was "allowed" but CEO pushed for an office return in May of 2020. It was constantly talked about even though there were no vaccines and cases were rising. We would get emails every other week about people getting sick at the office but yet they kept it open. With a bribe of free lunch and no mask wearing. The company preaches culture so heavily but 2020 revealed so many cracks. Diversity talks were swept under the rug because we had to keep our head down for the company mission. A lot of great talent was wasted and people like myself left for better opportunities. Rather than adapting to a persons strengths and abilities, they try to mold you into fitting the Bandwidth machine. Everything is coming from the top and the leadership is not good. Its very conservative, very white, and very male dominated. David Morken pushed that brand on everyone and would back it up with, this is just who I am. If you don't fit that or don't agree you will feel out of place. Being at a new company that is actually serious about caring for people has made a world of difference in my work life and my personal life.
