Pros

Past culture was amazing. Vision of the future is grand.

Cons

Unfortunately, the past culture is mo longer attainable. Senior leadership does not care how many people leave even though the cost to retrain is immense in comparison. Current culture is a facade.

Thank you for your feedback. Our unique culture is built on the close collaboration and creative energy of working in person. That’s why we’re building a new headquarters campus with great amenities to continue growing in a culture of being together. We encourage Bandmates to reach out to their manager or People Services to address special circumstances.

Pros

- Top notch health benefits (not as relevant for younger people without families) - Truly great people sprinkled all throughout the company

Cons

Oh my where to begin. First things first don't let anyone tell you during interviews that they have never done any layoffs. In my time I saw at least three full teams get laid off yet this narrative was still pushed both internally and externally. Toxic Culture: The first thing I witnessed that made me lose my rose colored glasses was the handling of company awards. There are two company awards ceremonies, one for operations and one that is company wide. In both cases I witnessed company leadership ignore votes and choose winners based on their own views. Let that sink in. They were actively betraying the voice of their employees for their own benefit. The second thing that made me sick is their total lack of understanding when it comes to social matters. Obviously public ally traded corporations have to be careful how they handle political matters but BW took this to another level. When employees organized a luncheon in honor of Juneteenth everything seemed ok. Enter stage left BW leadership. We were told that this lunch was in direct contradiction with company values and views. Now mind you there was no company budget allocated towards this lunch given that it was employee organized, but BW couldn't even stomach the thought of recognizing the day. Return to office: As many have mentioned the handling of the COVID pandemic was absolutely comical. BW leadership somehow fumbled the RTO not once, not twice, but three times. Your apology gift for the initial mishandling - free lunch (you had to of course come into the office for this). The second attempt at RTO was indirect messaging spread by middle management that informed employees that they were going to be required to work a hybrid schedule. The outrage from employees in response to this news was a very simple message from the CEO. "If you don't like it, leave." And many did leaving the company severely understaffed. Finally, David decided enough was enough and he mass blasted a company wide email to inform everyone that 5 days in office was going to be required with 2 weeks notice. And while the company reply bots in the comments will have you believing that company wide flexibility existed for this policy, it did not. It was 100% up to your management so if you were stuck with a bad leader you were out of luck. Career Advancement: If you are looking for change or advancement leave. If you do not fit the typical mold of BW employees your career there is essentially dead in the water. It does not matter how often you exceed expectations when it comes to performance reviews the most you will be rewarded with is a 2% raise. And let me remind you this is for TOP PREFORMERS.

Pros

Work/Life Balance Energy in the workplace

Cons

Executive Team seems detached from their employees and the software industry The company is not focused on grooming and retaining top talent. Bible verses on the walls and all-hands beginning with Christian prayers seems forceful They are developing a culture of yes-men/women. Anyone who disagrees goes unheard and ultimately leaves. Mandatory return to office
