Pros

Excellent benefits..Motivational speeches sound inspirational. You get an extra 30 minutes for lunch if you exercise. those things are nice. They are flexible about working from home.

Cons

Management, unethical behavior allowed and seen on a daily basis. Some things border on illegal. I heard comments like "no one over 40 should be allowed to work here" and "the old mans club" aimed at older folks in the tech departments. I also heard derogatory statements regarding females in the tech departments too. All of it disgusting and shameful. Management is more than aware. They don't do anything. People get drunk and loud while some others work on the beer days (thursday or friday) and it still surprises me that no one has gotten a DUI. flying footballs, guys banging around, saying nasty and crude things, I mean grow up...I moved from another group (wasn't so bad) to one that was pretty scary. Many things bordered on illegal. Don't expect to move up either..zero upward mobility from what I experienced. I have never worked in such an unprofessional place in my entire life. It's why I left very quickly after being moved.

Pros

New building is very nice

Cons

Depending on the department, there is confusion and swirl about goals and execution of work. There is not enough staff for the work needed.

Pros

* “hacker hours” each sprint that (when allowed) can help you set aside time to look into new technologies or learn something new * pay was good

Cons

* boss would get another coworker so mad at me for things that happened 2-3 years prior when that employee wasn’t even working at BW. The employee would come into meetings and be upset with me about things that happened a long time ago. * incredibly toxic in-office work environment. Boss talked smack about others in the company and past employees. * boss harassed me for wearing a religious shirt that wasn’t Christian (BW is super religious). Told me that he harassed me so I wouldn’t wear it anymore. * boss told me I wasn’t allowed to go to HR. When others went to HR about things they were seeing happening to me, I got retaliated against and made fun of in front of my peers. * forced in-office culture 5 days/week * WFH has to be approved ahead of time if you had an appointment. The appointment had to be for yourself (ie, no kid or pet appointments) otherwise you are forced to use PTO. * upper management refusing to allow us to use AWS when AWS solution was cheaper for the company * boss cornered employees and forced them to answer uncomfortable questions when the employee put up boundaries and said no. * inconsistent expectations about work hours. Company wants you to have a work-life balance but team dynamic was that if you didn’t work OT that you wouldn’t get promoted, even if you got all your work done within 40 hours. *consistently denied lunch and definitely couldn’t use 90-min lunch for workouts.
