Pros

Great benefits paid for by company. Good location that has food trucks and good lunch options around NC State. Playground environment with no real accountability. Good job security. Fun company events that involve plenty of beer. Free beer in the office at our desks. Free beer at company events. Free beer in company meetings. Free beer because it's Friday. Free swag. There is advancement opportunities if you want to try other departments or things. The company does create an environment which allows everyones voice to be heard. That being said, it's rarely acted upon but they will listen. The environment is fun and casual. The company puts a lot of money and time into it's culture with free stuff.

Cons

This place is great if you have minimal experience. If you know what you're doing you're going to lose your mind here and start looking for new employment like me and so many other people are. At Bandwidth you can mess up and fail yet still get a pat on the back and usually a promotion. Half the upper management was hired because they were friends with another manager so it's across the board that promotions, responsibility and roles are really just a joke. You'll never see a larger group of VP's and Directors with Mid-level Manager experience trying to motivate a team. There's only so much beer that can motivate me before you get frustrated. I was hired on to do a specific role and was very excited to join the team based on reviews I read online. I can honestly say what I was hired for I rarely get to do. Work life balance is so-so but definitely frowned upon if you don't answer your emails in the evenings or weekends. So it's up you you to create that balance and get a bad look by your manager, or work extra hours and see a smile.

Pros

Good benefits - PTO days that accrue the longer you have been there

Cons

There are a lot of cliques within this company. If you are in it, you will do well...if not don't say anything negative or you will gotten rid of. They "may" have changed - if so, good for them but I will be very candid about my personal experience. Some of the reviews on here are amusing to say the least...This was not even close to my experience. I found that the more you tried to be outspoken or open about issues, the more you were ostracized and it was frowned upon. A lot of things were said aloud by many in the company. Some very inappropriate however it depends on who you are if it's tolerated or not. I witnessed so many unethical things I would need far more than a glassdoor template to type it out on. The truth is, is that they are very disorganized and directionless. I reviewed all of the reviews and the one that states "there is good and bad" is probably the best take in all reality since this person saw more than one side. It depends on who you work for there. I'm not going to deny that I saw the vast majority of employees as young white males in the engineering departments...that's just the reality of it. I did hear many demeaning comments about those of a more advanced age. It was quite disheartening. I think this is a young and hungry company that will do about anything to cover up negative press - even if it's unethical or immoral. That's the cold hard truth. They move toward whatever is the money maker of the moment for them. I watched direction and gears change many times over while there as well as disrespect toward other employees take place, etc. I watched people back stab, I saw and talked to those too afraid to say anything as they feared they would be on the chopping block next...and they were probably right about that. Many just smiled and acted as if nothing was wrong (though they expressed otherwise while no one was around) because they are too complacent to leave or fearful to leave as this is all they have known and so forth. I never once met the CEO while I was there. If he's taking the steps to bond with those in his company then I applaud him for it....people and companies can change. While I was there, it was a really bad experience and I am forever grateful for not being there anymore. I never knew how much misery that atmosphere caused until i was removed from it. I felt like it was toxic to my well being and only since I've been gone, I've been truly able to see it for what it was...unethical, immoral, underhanded, and all else you can think of. Any place that needs to post it's legit should make you raise an eyebrow.

Pros

Onsite cafeteria, gym and childcare

Cons

They say they care about your mind, body and spirit but they only care about sales. They overspent on a luxury building but its not sustainable to keep denying promotions, merits, bonuses or back fills.
