Pros

- Company paid for medical and dental health insurance for yourself, your spouse and all of your children - 90 minute lunches - 20 PTO days - Brand new nature inspired office with an onsite Montessori based childcare center, walking trails, sports fields, cafeteria, gym, a customer experience center with meeting rooms designated specifically for when customers come on site, and an barn style event center - Most of the BANDmates across the company are awesome, extremely driven and really care about your success in addition to their own.

Cons

- If you are not based in the Raleigh-Durham area or plan to move there upon getting hired, do not work here. It’s mandatory 5 day in office culture. - Salary is lower compared to other companies hiring either remotely or in the Raleigh-Durham area (I think it’s because of the all paid for medical and dental insurance) - It’s currently a tough environment to sell in. Bandwidth is behind on a lot of products that Twilio, Telnyx and Sinch have already had put in the market for years. Oftentimes I’ve seen BANDmates have to resort to beg customers for business based on lowering the price. For now, Call Assure and Maestro are the only two differentiator products Bandwidth has in market. - Voxbone systems and the Dashboard are not fully integrated yet (could have been because they haven’t found the appropriate resources to remedy this at the time). - Although Bandwidth wants customers to come visit them at the new office, they will only cover meals and maybe a fun event; flights and hotel costs are on the customer.

Pros

100% free health insurance was nice.

Cons

Recruiters often resort to deceptive tactics in order to lure candidates into accepting offers. Unfortunately, this organization has a track record of consistently breaking promises, leading to a significant loss of trust. The frequent occurrence of layoffs raises concerns about the company's stability and commitment to its employees. Despite explicitly stating that a return to the office would not be enforced, the organization went back on its word, disregarding the preferences and well-being of its staff. The current salary structure is significantly below industry standards, creating a situation where employees are undervalued and their financial growth is stifled. Moreover, the lack of opportunities for professional advancement further dampens morale and motivation. It is disconcerting to observe potential biases in favor of individuals who identify as white and Christian, suggesting an unfair playing field within the organization. It is crucial to exercise caution and not place undue reliance on such advantages, as they may not guarantee fair treatment or equal opportunities.

Pros

Lots of creative freedom, good culture, independence as a developer and team, people are nice and respectful, easy pace of work, good benefits and pay. The business could be very successful if they make some hard decisions. There are a lot of very intelligent folks at the company with a wide skillset.

Cons

DevOps work is loaded onto developers, self-service is the ultimate desire for everything, teams have to have a lot of specific knowledge, the subject matter is very dry, managers have little to no buy-in on teams, sinking lots of effort into a bad acquisition, team leaders have no real authority but are told they should, the organization has too many middle managers to the number of developers and lots of siloing occurs between teams
