A big corporation that has not lost the touch with its employees yet.

Cons

work tools [computers, printers, software] are very old, outdated. The core system is very old. It is very frustrating to use the software. It is not easy at all to open an account. If you want to give the best service and feel good about what you do, you must spend a lot of time, on the PC. From my personal experience, I have noticed that it might take me an avarage of 40 minutes per account. And that is only with the software. It is such a hassle to learn new things. Only because it is very hard to use the system. When you want to be the best, you work your ass off.

Compensation, challenge, time spent out of the branch is nearly equal to time spent inside.

Cons

Get the right manager and you won't have much to complain about. The bank could defintely have better communication, standardization, and clearer uniformity regarding up-to-date credit policies and procedures for RBs...

There is opportunity to move up Typically the managers are knowledgable of the processes If you're in retail and love cold calling (on the phone) for hours a day, this is a great place

Cons

I equate BankUnited to a used car lot. In the branches all we hear is sale sale sale. The upper management is cold and middle management is colder. Bottom line is, retail is teeming with negativity and unneeded stress. Procedures are extensive and ever changing
