Pros

* the colleagues who work there * general culture of the bank * some great middle management * historically compensation are competitive * abundant opportunity if you are willing to work hard and are results focused

Cons

* current productivity initiatives is a big con to work/life balance * too much focus on cost and productivity * collapsing of middle and senior management roles into single role with no additional compensation (i.e. work more) [hopefully when he economy gets better the above will no longer be cons] * the bureaucracy when dealing with some colleagues from parent company (CBA Group)

Pros

Excellent work-life balance and a strong culture of a "small bank" despite being owned by the larger parent CBA. Excellent remuneration and rewards program.

Cons

There still remains silos between retail and business banks, which should be addressed. There could be better communication and understanding around what different areas of the bank does. This would ensure client's are getting better service and shown the full range of products and services.

Pros

Only applies pre-CBA takeover - friendly team, good staff recognition, supportive, relaxed atmosphere. my approx. 3 years working here was definitely a great platform into the banking world. good managers who were supportive and generous with their time and expertise. senior management was typical but still approachable compared to other financial institutions i've worked in. salary was bonus was generous too. this all changed during the GFC - refer Cons

Cons

once the GFC hit. lies, lies, and more lies. was told during one no one was being made redundant. few weeks later - your fired. pretty much all middle management gone or demoted. Luckily i escaped the carnage but alot of good people either made redundant or left. After restructure alot of ex-senior management from NAB and GE came onboard. Seems like they were the rejects as its a cold toxic place to work there now from what i hear (i've since left). More CBA personnel joining so soon be swallowed into CBA anyway.
