Pros

Peer support- team members look after each other (not including management) Centrally located Decent benefits

Cons

Poor pay for experience and contribution. Over run with bullies and “cool kids” cliques. Management teams full of “bosses”, seriously devoid of any actual “leaders”, or any idea as to what the difference is. Favoritism- different perks and consequences, depending on how well liked you are, for the same accomplishments or infractions. Unable to retain qualified and passionate staff, close to 50% of staff within units are new grad and/or inexperienced RNs. Which only serves to decrease job satisfaction, increase burnout, and threaten patient satisfaction and safety.
