Pros

Out of most big commercial tree companies, they're one of the better to work for. Unfortunately, that's not saying much. If overtime is your thing, and you live to do tree work, this might be your thing. If not, stay away.

Cons

Horrible working conditions are common and customers give very little appreciation even on the most professional job done or difficult working scenario. There's a very poor wage, and many of the people drawn to this field are rejects from any other profession. In addition, you'll find yourself competing with other tree companies, the kind most would call 'hacks.' Not only that, but people will assume you're one of them. Advancement opportunities are very limited, and unless you squeeze your way into a sales rep or corporate position, you'll end up working as a foreman for the rest of your life. Do you want to be stuck cutting down, trimming, and hauling trees until you're 65? If you even make it that far in this field without a serious injury knocking you out of this line of work, consider that winning the lottery.

Pros

Hard work Great coworkers Always new challenges to overcome Good 401k Safety culture

Cons

Upward growth is not achieved by honest hard work alone Benefits are terrible, except the 401k. Pay scale is garbage for labor. No support for outside training. You cannot have a life outside the company; family, friends, or otherwise.

Pros

Met some nice people, learned a lot, great commute, interesting training, good experience

Cons

The systems are outdated & in my opinion that is very surprising considering how big of a company that Bartlett is; one would think that their systems would be up to date. Technology is ever changing and advancing & this company needs it badly. The phone systems should be linked to the computer where you don't have to write down info on a sheet of paper, transfer it to the computer, & enter the customers info into the system. It doesn't cost much to get that software either & it avoids mistakes! The feeling of over whelmed never goes away because no one can actually catch up! Customer service is stressful enough but when more than one hand touches something mistakes are bound to happen, that is pure utter fact! When reps don't contact their customers back it makes us admins look really bad & it makes Bartlett look bad also. The work load needs to be organized! In order to be a team everyone needs to be a part of the team! Certain people in management do not belong in management! If management doesn't spend the time in the office, or have things in place to check out the office then people get away with things. Those people that get away with what they do behind managements back eventually will come to light. Very inconsistent information across the board. Favoritism is very strong & known!
