Pros

Christmas bonus (not much but anything helps), Christmas frozen turkey, the people are generally friendly and helpful

Cons

Hardly enough merit increase to combat against the rising cost of living (last year's max raise was 2.5% when residents and doctors got 5+%). It is very physician-focused (how to make them more money). Poor pay, and they have a monopoly on healthcare which drives everyone else's costs up. You cannot choose another insurance provider. There is no respect for employees unless you have MD after your name. No opportunitiy for career advancement or placement. You are pretty much stuck in one position unless you try to find something else. There is no career path. Good 'ol boys mentality. If you don't know anyone, then you can forget trying to get ahead. Insurance rates are ridiculous for employees when employees of the Board of Director's organizations pay less than S&W employees do. Doctors don't have to pay insurance, which makes us (who hardly make anything anyway) pay more. I work, finally after 3 years, in a semi-professional role and about half my department has a second job just to pay the bills since S&W doesn't pay their professional-level masters degree holders well.

Pros

A paycheck biweekly - Questionable for how long

Cons

Middle management treat their RNs like slaves and Poop cleaners! No recognition for longevity, hard work and loyalty but high expectation from nurses to treat their patients with five star spirit. Good place for psychopathic and maniac middle managers to display their cheap aggressive muscle management tactics. If you are a minority, run away from this place as fast as you can because this is the worst discriminating place on the face of the earth!

Pros

Competitive salaries. Here are some more words to meet the Glassdoor minimum because that’s all I have to say.

Cons

No job security. Recently outsourced their entire IS department overseas for cost-sharing benefits. Leadership says it was done to “increase access to high quality healthcare” and focus on “frontline care.” But in the past year they have also closed their Labor and Delivery unit in Marble Falls and sold off their hospital in Llano, which reduces access to healthcare in rural areas of Texas. They place profits over people all. day. long. Leadership is also not being honest about their inevitable goal of completely outsourcing the employees they decided to retain.
