      Pros

      Large hospital in urban environment not very far from the Berkshires Convenient to highway

      Cons

      Constantly in some sort of financial crisis or another Dollars more important than patient care Does not reciprocate the same loyalty that is demanded of employees

      One of the bigger employers in Springfield, MA Involved in community projects

      Cons

      It's about who you know. If you're related to a manager that works here you can do all kinds of things and not get fired. HR is only concerned with protecting managers and their jobs. Be careful about which department you get hired into because if your manager doesn't like you it's very difficult to transfer out.
