Pros
They try to come across as a "family owned business that cares for their employees". Some times they do, if they like you. We do have a new president of the company that came from JC Penny and Sears, and she is making a difference. They recently let us have 2 days off during the Holiday season after they were finding out that their salaried managers were getting burned out working 6 days a week 11 hours a day. You do get 1 hour for lunch though!!
Cons
long hours... they state in their employee manual that you are required to work 40 hours a week as a salaried employee, but they neglect to tell you that they schedule you more than 50+ and you work even more than that. They also only give you one weekend off per month even though there is enough coverage for the store. But, if you have a title of operations or merchandise manager, you only work one night a week. Some store managers are required to work 1 night a week, but most don't(favoritesim). NO SICK LEAVE
