Pros

I loved the cosmetics that I dealt with and making extra from the sales. Also some of the make up perks.

Cons

Pay for performance. Credit card apps or else. Do anything for a sale even lie about you to get them. You are nothing to Belk, Schedules are insane

Pros

The only pro I found was that the salon itself was actually very nice.

Cons

The salon manager had no idea how to run a business. The store's policy was that it saw no need to advertise the salon. They want you to stay busy all the time, yet since they don't advertise that there is even a salon in Belk, being busy with clients is impossible. So the manager insists you clean constantly even everything is immaculate. The manager was under pressure to reach unattainable goals & made the stylist miserable when she failed. One day I was even made to walk through the mall with tacky fliers with coupons just so it would look like I was busy. Another day I was watching a haircut by another stylist & found the manager walking up & clapping at me(like I was a dog!) because another stylist was doing a cut &(shock!) hair fell on the floor-- the manager wanted me to sweep while the stylist was cutting. Ridiculous. I could go on forever, but I get ill just thinking about my experience there.

Pros

Enjoy other employess and most of my customers

Cons

They have their pets that dont have to stock, set sales, work nights just hug the cash registor while everyone else does all the work. This results in the worker getting a pay cut and the lazy employee gets a raise !!!!! The store manger does not have any people skills and treats you like an idiot. All he is interested in is credit credit credit. If you have a problem he wals away from you as you are trying to talk to him.He does not lift a finger to help anyone .I have been with Belk for years and make minumum wage. We work like slaves.
