Pros

The discount but hardly use. Some of the associates actually care about their job.

Cons

Poop for pay for the amount of work done. If you make sale's and open credits you can pretty much steal without getting fired show up to work late without correction. Steal time and just get moved to a different store. The lack of enforcing policies because it's always been that way. Let's make $300 dollar gift baskets for people at church with Belk merchandise that's doesn't get paid for. Hire people that aren't worth a poop. Treat the good employees like poop so they quit. I could go on and on I wish someone in the western division would read this.

Pros

The offered a generous relocation package that included 3 months of corporate housing. The also provided a nice sign on bonus.

Cons

The biggest issue at Belk is the culture. The organization is full of people who have been with the company for years and years. For those coming from outside of the company, prepare for resistance. This organization isn't keen to change. You must assimilate or otherwise be unhappy.
