Pros

Great pay if you're a manager (slightly under par otherwise) Flexible amount of sick days

Cons

- 0 possibilities for development (I was there 3 years; every single manager was hired externally and I know personally quite a few lower-level employees who left because they couldn't even move sideways. No budget unlocked for classes/training/relevant conferences and not allowed to go anyway) -Cutthroat attitude highly valued by senior management. One senior manager of a different division was extremely weak in the soft skills of management (micro managed, blamed his employees for his mistakes, did not communicate plans/vision) and I know a colleague in another department who had to complain to HR because her boss was too abusive. In my department, an established star performer of many years was driven to the ground and fired by her new VP (who was, ironically, fired from his previous job for being too inhumane. That part I learned from acquaintances at his old company).

Pros

It's a good job if you are in-between jobs because the salary is decent. This should a student job only. As an adult, as I mentioned, this should be your last hope to pay bills after a lay off and not a permanent replacement for your previous job.

Cons

It is a job that requires you to absorb lots of information in a short training span and then you are left on your own. I don't know what is more annoying, the turn over of outside-hired managers, the supervisors that are disconnected from the employees or the actual dealing with the public within inbound calls. The environment is disorganized. The hours are not flexible either, which they lie about during the "crash" training they provide. Why work in a call center if the hours are not flexible?

Pros

decent technical and highend industry learnings passed onto staff to stay ahead of the rest but this info is sent down from there head office in europe or britain somewhere and rolled out by the canadian headquarters in montrael! I guess they really call the shots?!

Cons

speedy glass or belron canada cycles its employees yearly at all levels to keep costs down. usually after there employee surveys are done. anyone with more then 5 years should be looking for alternate work options
