Pros

-Continuing education package/ residency program -Mentorship for new grads -Various opportunities for advancement within the company (clinical and non-clinical)

Cons

-Outrageous clinician turnover rate (2019) -Typical corperate culture focused on quantity vs quality of patient care -Double booking is standard practice without tech/ aid support -Poor communication and lack of transparency from upper-level management -Clinicians frequently being shuffled between clinics (patients are very frusterated by lack of consistency in their care)

Pros

How much you enjoy working for Benchmark will depend A TON on who you work with in your clinic. My clinic is laid back, supportive, and we all get along really well. I know other people in my position that don’t so much love their supervisors and they don’t enjoy their days as much as I do. Another pro is the patient interaction. I love seeing the same patients over and over, and I have gotten very close with some. I really enjoy how much I get to talk to them and see their progress. My training time was fantastic and in-depth. I knew that my regional trainer would not leave me on my own until I was confident in all aspects of my job. I also feel that there are at least four people that I could come to with questions who would be more than happy to help me out.

Cons

The Office Coordinator position is grossly underpaid compared to the value that they bring to the clinic. A job well done goes highly unrecognized by supervisors. Office coordinators are responsible for maintaining authorizations, scheduling patients, and providing customer service that makes patients want to come back to Benchmark and recommend our clinic to others as well. All of these things are crucial to the financial success of the clinic, yet this does not show in the office coordinator pay rate. Anyone considering the office coordinator position should also know that the “bonus” system they have set up is almost impossible to achieve. It requires a month straight of metrics that depend largely on factors the OC will have no control over. Another con, not from the administrative side, is the HUGE emphasis by the corporate office on scheduling as many patients as possible. I, personally, work for a moral PT who places high importance on the quality of patient care - he sacrifices monetary gain to make sure that he can treat patients well. A physical therapist that is still getting the hang of things would probably not be capable of seeing the number of patients that the company asks of them. Patient care at the local level is sacrificed for the financial well-being of the company.

Pros

Watching patients progress with the guidance of our caring therapist in a positive environment.

Cons

Support staff is under appreciated and severely under compensated which contributes to a high turn over rate.
