Pros

Thankfully they provide decent health insurance benefits. The brow cosmetics look good if applied correctly, but are chock full of toxins and carcinogens.

Cons

Terrible, discriminatory environment. Micromanagement trickles down to the boutiques from corporate level employees who are clueless regarding the store's individual culture and clientele. Sales employees are pressured by individual, unrealistic daily, weekly and monthly goals that create a stressful and competitive energy between employees instead of comradeship and teamwork. The worst part about this company, however, is the inability for fully capable women of color or women who may not have the idealistic "pretty face" to move upward regardless of how much experience, education or talent they may possess. Long hours, mediocre-at-best compensation. If you're into slavework for a bunch of mean girls - this is the company to join.

Pros

Gratis is great, discount is great, clients are great. Every other employee you work with feels the same way you do.

Cons

Managers and trainers expect you to have a plastic smile at all times and somehow push to sell anything and everything until the client literally says "no more". I saw 8 girls quit in one month and I've heard multiple stories of them being sued.

Pros

Love my job! My executive is supportive, not pushy. We discussed my two year goal for a promotion, and together, we made it happen in a years time. Beauty counter has an expected work flow, if you follow it, your goals are reached and the day goes pretty fast. Clients for this line are laid back and usually open to a service or product. As an esthetician, I have built a very loyal clientele, and enjoy all my brow stars. Products are actually effective, services are really popular. Paid holidays, vacations, sick days, and benefit packages that most in this industry cannot dream of. 401k, life insurance and gratis.

Cons

Pack aging of product gets old ... it's immature and cheap at times and not something I want to pull out of my purse to show off, ever. Sad, because our products work, and are very concentrated. A couple of steps up the lady ladder would benefit the growth of the company even more, as competition has worse product and still sell due to the acceptability of the packaging. That's what appeals to women. Also, higher pay after you meet and exceed goals year after year. I hate having to ask.
