Pros

Gratis, work till 6pm, get to stand around and think of all the other opportunities there are

Cons

Benefit "doesn't pay $20 or more to Assistant Managers" - words from my regional manager. No training, no support and they set you up to fail. With Benefit all over social media, NEVER do they mention "Visit your local boutique". How does Benefit expect you to sell $80 an hour when no one knows to visit? If you don't make your SPH, you get written up. Even when your store customers don't like the products, its your fault. Also, when your regional visits, the customers get disgusted and annoyed because of how fake and rude she is. And its extremely professional when the regional is cursing every other word.

Pros

Gratis, events, cute props, fun education on new products. You get to meet a lot of awesome people. Good hourly pay

Cons

With not as much varieties in darker skin tones, it can somewhat be embarrassing when I can't offer my client the perfect shade foundation. If as a makeup artist you're creative, you'll be dissapointed when you're restrained to the limited variety they offer in eyeshadows. Having to compensate blushes and bronzers to get that perfect smoky eye.. etc. etc. Moving up can be difficult when you're in a tank full of snakes but if you're strong minded and willful you can succeed. Sales goals are usually high and unrealistic. The events are fun but sometimes nonstop.

Pros

Brand can be fun; they try to make meetings enjoyable; decent base pay

Cons

Expectations are rising, but rewards are almost completely gone. Communication is fuzzy and everyone is spread beyond thin with little support.
