Pros
- Working with customers to make them feel good about themselves is very rewarding, the products are fun and innovative. - The pay is very good, better than some counter manager roles at other brands. - You can take two 45min breaks during the day.
Cons
- Benefit is extremely sales focused, more so than other beauty counters and are very pushy with their sales technique. - They expect 3% sickness per month for the counter overall. That's equivalent to one person taking one sick day every month, if you go above this you can be "monitored" and subsequently disciplined or fired. - They do not pay for a hotel to attend the 3 or 5 day training required, unless you live 4+ hours away. Even if you are not physically able to commute or drive daily, they expect you to be there at 9am and leave at 5pm (both rush hour). - Daily targets are very difficult to achieve unless you work in a store that has high footfall. Although you won't always hit your target in beauty retail, Benefit come down harder on you than other brands. You are expected to hit a number of targets not just your total sales.
