Pros

- Exposure to the most amazing, well-know brands in the industry - Facetime with upper-level management - Very hands on, experience with not only buying, but visual merchandising in store, planning, marketing, events, etc - Discount

Cons

- Salary, extremely low compared to other companies for the same position - High turnover rate, mostly due to low salary and because employees do not feel appreciated - No work/life balance, assistants are expected to stay extremely late to finish work (teams are small, so workload is hard to manage) and are not allowed to expense dinner or cabs home if you live far - Forced to have email on phone, so buyer and store managers/associates can contact you at all times - Career growth is difficult, there's a big gap between assistant and buyer, so half the time you are getting underpaid while doing the responsibilities of a buyer if you are trying to get promoted - ABs are always taken advantage of in this way.

Pros

I can only name just one good thing about working at Bergdorf Goodman and that's you will meet an amazing group whether it's sales or stock they are a lot of wonderful people that make your stay there less miserable

Cons

Horrible Pay, management has very little clue on what they are doing at all and are not willing to listen to the employees who have been in the company for years and know how things should operate. You are no longer recognize for your hard work it's more of a WHO YOU KNOW which will get you any promotions. Your constantly getting verbally abused by some sales associates as well as management, Working conditions in most stock rooms are horrible you have very little to no room to perform any task that is asked of you. Honestly I give it 1 star since I can't give them a 0 all the higher ops have no idea on how the company is operating or who works where. We are humans beings we do not deserved to be treated like robots or slaves!!!!

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

I worked at BG for almost a year, I couldn't take it anymore. The toxicity at this company is beyond words. I was bullied, treated like absolute garbage, and never was valued. I was micromanaged and treated like a slave, and was never even given a thank you. My mental health from this company will forever be destroyed, the PTSD I have experienced is like no other, I cannot even walk past the building without having some sort of anger come out of me. These people are competitive and will not look at you if you look or dress a certain way. If you are just trying to get started in your career I suggest you do not even think about applying here. BG is a horrible, toxic, and disgusting environment.
