Pros

There are some good people who work here.

Cons

The company is a disaster. They continue to grow only by M&A and lose many customers when they jam them into their billing system which is a joke in itself. Accounting management is spineless and beholden to a person outside the organization who has free reign over the company and is one of the most unethical people I've met in my life. Their benefits are some of the worst in class. The 401k match is for the most part non existent and given at the discretion of the owners. They don't even pay well to compensate for the bad benefits. There is no communication between departments. There are unethical business practices going on. Over the last two years, there have been two CEOs, two CFOs, 3 VPs of Accounting, 4 controllers and over twenty accountants that have left the company that weren't forced to resign. The new CEO and COO have 'reduction in workforce with the same results' as their accomplishments on LinkedIn. That should tell you all you need to know. I could go on but stay away from working for this company. Most people are looking to get out or are turning a blind eye to the health of the company. Birch can't retain good talent.

Pros

Bathrooms, water, heat (sometimes), air (sometimes), chairs and computer, earned income credit due to lowest wages in the industry. I'm sorry but there isn't 20 pros to this job.

Cons

Everything that's not in the "pros" section. I'm not kidding. Birch isn't something you do FOR someone it's something you DO to someone. If they hired animals the humane society would have to shut them down. Try going to work everyday wondering if you will get laid off 6 months to 1 year after the layoffs supposedly ended. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone or anything.

Pros

Basic industry and product knowledge. The Sales process is drilled into your head, (which is a good thing) but at the end of the day, you gotta be able to think outside of the box, and color outside the lines. You are told to "separate" yourself from the competition and stand out. BUT, be careful! It can backfire on you very quick.

Cons

Micromanaging. Had to learn from trial & error. Favoritism demonstrated IF you sold something. House accounts (inorganic deals) used against you to keep you motivated. There is NO management...at all. If you can't sell it, Mgr will go around you to, 1.)close it OR 2.)screw it up! No customer service (it's not an SAE's job) You give out the customer care hotline number and move on to the next victim. Kids managing kids. High turnover. No real investment in keeping an employee for tenure. Company would rather onboard a new rep, spend countless amount of money to train them, and let them walk out because..... YOU. ARE. REPLACEABLE! So sad.
