Terrible culture and leadership. No trust and terrible approach to DE&I.

Pros

Relatively high salaries to try to keep people from quitting.

Cons

Terrible culture and leadership. Pretty much entire white leadership team who undermined meaningful DE&I efforts. Patronizing and untrustworthy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It is our highest priority to ensure that Bitly is a safe and inclusive place to work for everyone. The majority of our leadership team is new to Bitly, including our CEO, and we are working very hard to build an environment in which we respect and value each other. To achieve this, we have emphasized inclusion and diversity and we will continue to seek meaningful progress in these areas. Although we have much work to do, over the past year we have formed a DEI Core Committee which is focused on driving key DEI initiatives and goals across the company, launched our second ERG, and are in the process of hiring a VP of DEI who will report directly to our CEO.

Amazing people but not a winning model

Pros

Amazing people, collaborative and accepting culture that embodies corporate responsibility

Cons

They have a failing product that holds them back as an organization. Inundated with tech debt, innovation is their biggest challenge and I'm not sure they have the ability to adapt to the rapidly changing martech industry.

Lack of direction

Pros

The majority of the people are great.

Cons

The company appears to have realized they needed to drive revenue and their solution was simply repackaged a freemium product as "enterprise" offering. Despite searching for senior talent, they allow for zero autonomy and insist on Sales Engineers being involved at every touchpoint. Bitly also made the classic mistake of growing a sales team rapidly and in an unsustainable fashion. Like many companies before them, the hiring was done without a need. As a result, almost all the hires are no longer at the company. These issues aside, the most troubling aspect was the passive-aggressive nature of specific people on the sales team. This is not common in the tech world and took me, and other members of the team, by surprise.
