Stale startup that lacks leadership

Pros

Generally good company culture. Pay is competitive. Good amount of time off. Very inclusive and LGBTQ friendly.

Cons

Founders are still running the company, but are doing so with emotion rather than logic. Company direction and strategy are consistently vague. Company spend is not managed well so hiring freezes and layoffs are common. The product is faulty and not managed well. All the focus is on acquiring new customers and no emphasis is put on existing customers, so churn is very high.

On the right path, but too little too late.

Pros

- Very talented employees in all departments - Good benefits (Medical/vision/dental/401k + match) - Everyone is very friendly and will genuinely try and help you if you need it - Fully remote working is available (if you're not near an office) - Great opportunities to advance within the company. They will promote internally.

Cons

- Pay is below market averages for the same positions at other companies, similarly sized. - Preaches transparency but leadership doesn't provide enough, especially when things are released to the product that leave employees confused. - The company eventually shifted to the direction it needed to (product stability, improving the overall user experience), but it was too late, and customers were already unhappy. - Shifted to a hybrid remote work model and opened new offices when no money should have been spent on that and the company should have been kept remote.
