Pros
Opened a new store so the training was top notch. We are given the tools to run our own business. Department manager is very supportive in helping us with our goals and listening to our concerns. You can schedule your own lunches and breaks and scheduling is easy to switch around with co workers. You can have a work/life balance but....not if you want to make a decent paycheck..see below
Cons
There is absolutely no way to make a livable income with the draw vs commisison pay structure. I am one of the biggest sellers in my department and still cannot rely on a decent pay check due to the high return rate and unreliability of co workers adjusting receipts under their number. My liveyhood depends on foot traffic, hoping my clients need a new outfit good scheduling and no returns and hope and pray that after all of that roller coaster week that I can pay my bills after giving Bloomingdales 40 hours of my life. After 2 years of not being able to do that its time to look elsewhere. My advice If this is a supplemental job for you work part time and sell well get your discount and pray no one returns that dress you helped her with for an hour. My co workers and I have to pay back a loan every week and when it comes down to it make less than a fast food employee.
