Pros

My time at Bloomwell had some positives, mainly the supportive clinic staff and working with the families, but there were notable discrepancies between what was promised during hiring and what was actually delivered.

Cons

Benefits like unlimited PTO, remote work, and performance-based bonuses were either revoked, restricted, or difficult to access. For example, PTO became accrual-based for all BCBAs, the 52 remote workdays never materialized, and bonuses were hard to reach due to billing limitations. Required billable hours increased from 25 in the interview to 30 after I started, and the "flexible" schedule meant being onsite from 7:45am to 4:15-5:00pm daily, regularly exceeding 40 hours a week. While I appreciated the clinic environment, I would not recommend Bloomwell to other jobseekers due to the gap between initial expectations and the actual experience.

Pros

Cute clients & good coworkers, class pass membership. Good place to be an RBT if you’re okay with low pay, terrible place for career growth if you’re an RBT looking to be a BCBA.

Cons

-group sessions frequently, which feels unethical because these clients signed up for direct 1:1 therapy and so did employees. This happens due to always being short staffed. (it’s not the schedulers fault for not hiring people - it’s the upper management who put a maximum on how many employees can work there without realizing people have PTO and/or are sick every day. They don’t care though, they would have to pay more people to hire more people). -accruing unrestricted hours is a joke here because you will be needed on direct. They also don’t pay you for unrestricted hours until you’re half way through them… which would take FOREVER at the rate you accrue them. -you have to use your own laptop for unrestricted activities -no structure whatsoever to their fieldwork program -you also can’t start accruing fieldwork hours until you’re 8 weeks into school….
