Pros

Coworkers who have stayed and tried to "stick it out" since their small dealership got bought out are there to reminisce about how great of a workplace we used to have.

Cons

I feel compelled to write this to let someone know what the reality of this workplace is before they decide to change the trajectory of their career by taking a position at any Blue Compass RV location. Take a look into what Auto Nation did to the auto industry and you'll understand more about what's happening to the RV industry and at Blue Compass RV. The offices of once small family owned and local RV dealerships are now filled with with posters of corporate buzz words proclaiming "core values" and large pictures of the CEO's face on the wall to paint a pretty picture of what this company should be. I have to give credit where credit is due: their marketing team has done a spectacular job with their online display of company culture and comradery, but that is only true for their corporate leaders. It's far from the reality of the employees who actually work within the dealerships who've experienced constant pay changes (read: cuts) across almost all departments and little support from upper management who have effectively burned out trying to keep up with the constant changes in policies and high turnover rate since the corporate takeover began. For sales in particular, a glitchy CRM program that is micromanaged and misappropriates leads makes the day to day frustrating enough. Constantly changing commission pay plans, each one results in decreasing your earning potential. They recently switched to a draw system, which they spin as a positive, but in a seasonal industry like ours it feels like a trap door going into winter. This happened less than 3 months after their last pay plan change which increased the cost line on each unit, making it more difficult to hold gross and near impossible to match and compete with other nearby dealers who carry the same lines. On top of that, your commission will often need correcting so understand the most current play plan and keep a close eye on each of your deals to know what you're owed. I can only imagine what's coming down the pipeline next. If I had to guess, they'll flood the floor with more salespeople just like Camping World.

Pros

It's a job that pays your bills, you do what you're supposed to and you should be able to fly under the radar.

Cons

Not a professional environment, no communication, no structure, there's people with titles of leaders, but no true leadership past their titles, they see you as a number more than a person.
