      It's a job with decent pay and benefits

      Cons

      Management lacks any common sense. Supervisors and above are not hired from within so have to be trained by the department's employees. Blue Shield fires or lays off the seasoned employees who dare to speak the truth and replace them with the young "yes" people. Blue Shield starts as a decent place to work but within a short time you see the ignorance, favoritism and politics.

      The pay is decent but could be better considering you have to resolve the issue on the first call. You basically are a slave to the member

      Typical Corporate America, it is still who you know rather than what you know when it comes to advancement.
