Pros
For a career oriented professional - I don't see any pro's. However, if you happened to be one of the unfortunate top performers who landed up in the wrong side of the job market, then this is not a bad place to "hang out".
Cons
"Senior Management" clearly demonstrate - Lack of "real" experience. (Real as in " "been there , done that as opposed to simply lazing around for years in the some position in the industry) - Lack of ability to influence or motivate people. - Lack of ability to even plan initiatives , leave alone Program management. - Lack of even absorbing or understand the solutions expert professionals provide (some experts being hired due to the tough economic scenario.) - The rigid hierarchy obfuscates the communication with executive management . Bottom Line: Poor leadership trickles itself down the pyramid.
