C level executives on rotating doors

Pros

Flexible telecommute, decent pay range, public transport accessible for corporate location.

Cons

Each new management changes direction and wipes processes that were just put in place. C executives and VP s come and go every 2-3 years just there long enough to claim some change and leave with a fat package. CEO sounds genuine but reality below is not supporting the best place to work other than to score better with bandaids. Lay offs affect retained knowledge and kill morale. Constant new hires having to reinvent everything all over again when process was already there so every time a director or manager turns (which is usually every 1.5 - 2 years) over, the cycle starts again. Always scrambling to figure out what exactly they are supposed to do. Dueling management would rather let another team fail to prove something rather than work together to fix it. They don't have the company or the member's interest at heart at all even though they spout how mission driven they are. Hires outside consultants to do work the people in that role should know then claims that as a win when they've spent that much money yet the team still don't know how to do the work. Unbelievable.

Pros

Company espouses right leadership values and is mission driven. I have colleagues I deeply respect, who are open and are great partners to work with. As a director, I appreciate the decision-making authority and overall trust given to leaders. For the most part, I see rigors of accountability at all levels.

Cons

Recent senior leader hires do not reflect company values like empathy, listening and curiosity. Leadership chaos, constant shifting and lack of clarity on major company goals, priorities and focus areas. Lack of resources for middle management to accomplish all that is being asked has led to serious work/life balance issues with a message that senior management "just wants things done." At the top seems to be a constant "yes" mentality and inability to push back on or question unrealistic asks. Conflict avoidance with the CEO tends to be the flavor of the day.

Pros

I was attracted to the stated mission when I started here, and I have done some good for members. I say stated because this operates the same as any other insurance company. All about lining the executives pockets - the executives may not make as much as say Anthem, but they are still making millions.

Cons

Where do I start? IT is a complete dumpster fire. Projects take years longer to complete than they should if they get completed at all. 8/9 years to get all your membership on one platform says it all, and even then there are massive problems and on top of it they layoff all the people who seemingly knew how any of it even worked. Don't even get me started on this data warehouse replacement project that has now been going on 3-5 years and probably 20 if you count how many times they have failed to replace the current data warehouse. Also, how do you retire a source of information, but not even have it updated concurrently with the new one for at least a few months??? I could go on for days how terrible IT is here. And the worst part of it all is nobody is willing to push back on them or stand up when they overreach. They act like they run the business when the reality is that they should be there to support the business.
