Pros

You can come and go pretty much whenever you want.

Cons

No one seems to be in charge. Employees do whatever they want. Pay in the office is low. Field workers and management get raises and bonuses but office workers don't get anything. If you're not in the good old boys club, you're screwed. Employees responsibilities change constantly with little or no communication. Lots of inappropriate comments in the workplace.

Pros

Excellent benefits package, senior staff were willing to listen and consider suggestions/ideas from anyone. Got floor employees involved in continuous improvement projects, their opinions were important.

Cons

Mining industry with the usual up down times.
