-Never a dull moment, very dynamic company in a compelling industry -Work schedule can be flexible when you need it to be -Opportunities for career growth, ExPat assignments -Lots of opportunities for process improvements and standardization so you can really make your mark -Better than average compensation

Cons

-Dynamic nature of the company leads to a chaotic and stressful work life -Keeping up with all the changes and latest corporate initiatives can be challenging -Too many bosses....I think I have at least five -Lack of standardization and training programs -industry is very cyclical so there can be massive layoffs

Pros

Schedules are very flexible, pay is in line with industry standards. Everybody works off of laptops which allows for some telecommuting. Depending on what department you are in, there is plenty of work to do with realistic time frames.

Cons

No consistancy. There is a definite cycle of hiring and laying off. Management is very "old school" so don't expect to move up unless you become part of the good old boys club. Upper management and middle management do not have the same goals, or at least do not execute to the same goals. I am in a department that is extremely starved for work, I am bored. When I approach my bosses about this issue I get a standard "things will pick up" answer. I wouldnt recommend you plan on a career with Boart, but it is a decentf to pay the bills while you look for a career position.
