Pros

Free weekend lunch when the account wasn't disabled. Trauma bonded to a few well educated and skilled professionals.

Cons

How does one start to describe the biggest disappointment of their professional career? I, as most others, signed my contract with Bond based on the facade of the new vet med they were creating. Quickly, we learned how much the recruiters either had no idea what was happening in the clinics or they truly had found masterful sales people. 10 hours days commonly turned into 11, 12, plus, having cleaning staff turned into if you can meet these production goals for the company we could have them, having safe patient to staff ratios turned into "This is the best we can do, sort out your burnout", having any sort of competent and available leadership turned into waiting for "the powers that be" to emerge from behind their lap tops screens.

Pros

If you think free lunch on weekends is a pro (when the company card decides to want to work).

Cons

Toxic leadership has become the biggest issue with this company. All of the decent people I was able to work with during my time at Bond either quit or were fired because they weren’t “yes” men. Beware if you want to speak up for your team or yourself, because it might backfire on you. When I started a little less than two years ago, we were lured in with so many “perks” that were promised to us (no phones ringing in clinic, cleaners every night so you wouldn’t have to stay past your shift to clean). These perks were slowly taken away. They can barely keep all of the Boston clinics running due to the staff they keep losing due to this poor management/leadership. There is no reliable management/support/leadership in Boston. The company’s headquarters are located in NY. If there were more support in Boston, I think this company would stand a better chance. But due to the incompetent/lack of clinic managers within Boston, the support we got was lackluster/non-existent. If you aren’t a “yes man”, then beware, because you will be reprimanded. Another thing Bond decided to incorporate was rerouting staff members from one clinic to another. At one point, they were pulling staff members from fully staffed clinics and sending them to clinics that were understaffed. They do not compensate you for going to another clinic. They also expect VA’s to act as nurses without fully compensating them, either. This company has made it clear that profit is more important than their employees mental health and well-being. Unfortunately, Bond has become a truly toxic corporate company. I will not recommend this company to any of my friends who work in this field.

Pros

- fully stocked kitchen - state of the art equipment - electronic records

Cons

- Doctors work off production, which means they are constantly pushing for diagnostics which may not be necessary at that time point of care. Not all of the doctors are like this though..unfair to the client which doctor happens to take appointment. Witnessed doctors bully clients into purchasing diagnostics that could have appropriately staged out according to pet clinical signs and history. - Understaffed and overbooked all the time but unwilling to turn off appointments, or at least nurse visits, again because of need to meet production. This is false in their job descriptions. - Witnessed little to no patient recovery post surgery. - Has a giant TV in all treatment rooms to show how people are rating their experience with their doctor , nurse and experience. This is completely inappropriate. No one needs to see that rather than upper management. - clients can be abusive to staff, leave a bad review but marketing team reaches out with a gift for them to remove the bad review. Clear lack of respect for their team. - A lot of talk of burnout and how they care, but directly contributes to it in many ways such as refusing to let the in clinic staff control the schedule, overbooking and double booking, and no standard of care. It’s easy to say we aren’t busy and can see more appointments when sitting in a luxury office while real people are eating a 5 minute lunch with an animals blood on their hands because we couldn’t waste the 1 minute to wash our hands or sacrifice being able to eat at all. - Forced overtime and coming in early for surgery. This was not in the job description when applying for the job.
