More Flexible than most

Pros

Boston Scientific has been incredibly flexible with remote work and varying hours over the past 4 years. This has enabled our two income household to care for our children AND still take time for ourselves. Benefits are great, tuition reimbursement up to $8,000 / year, and paid leave are just a few of the ways the company invests in its employees

Cons

You start at the bottom regardless of experience. Company is moving to mandatory 3 day in office for hybrid employees. After several years of record profits while working from home, this move does not entirely make sense. Employees that rely on previous flexibility will need to consider options.

Pros

Pay, ERGs (Employee Resource Groups), Coffee, Gym, Cafeteria You’ll learn a lot!

Cons

Extremely hierarchical - and your title will never change if it’s not in the established hierarchy or an available job in the system. You must speak fluent PowerPoint. Do not be perceived as a threat to hierarchy or you’ll have a bad time. The environment is severely understaffed to manage the many, many documented procedures and surprise priorities and changes. You will work long hours. Always act as if your actions will be audited. Run away now.

Pros

Great technologies, decent perks. Nice future Product pipeline. Global leader in many spheres with a great CEO. Still in growth phase.

Cons

Runs on whims and fancies of very few sitting in the HO. No respect for personal life. No clear discussions on career plans. Perceptions rather than processes defines careers. Highly skewed job loads- performers get dumped the maximum work without tangible appreciation, nay sayers NOT wanted. If you know yes sir, this is the place. Too many flip flops. No customer focus. Handful of minions run the management perception. Completely impractical strategies with no concern for people. Top speaks a lot about people development and then kills behind the closed doors. Diplomatic to the core. Many free riders. Rather than appreciating 99% positive work, always crib for their own flip flops. Absolute mess! Absolute ZERO HR function. Marketing team doesnt even know products well.
