Pros

Free health insurance. That's about it. The dental is cheap but the policy is TERRIBLE.

Cons

Don't expect anything from this company. I don't even know where to start. It is absolutely comical that there is a facade of Bozzuto being such a happy place to work. The people here are rude, petty, and vicious, plain stupid/lacking common sense, or all of the above (to include site members, corporate marketing (the WORST), senior management (favoritism), community ownership representatives, it is all negative). The workplace environment is hostile and toxic. You won't get paid for the actual amount of time you worked because even if you put in the time and effort, you aren't allowed to document anything other than an 8 hour work day (and please note that at most properties you actually work a 9 hour day). The leasing commission payout is embarrassingly low. The mismanagement, overstepping boundaries, general unprofessional behavior, favoritism, and SHADY business practices are all out of control. Keep your fingers crossed if you work in leasing that you're going to get an accurate payout, because really you never know, it isn't itemized in your pay stub like any normal job would do, and it is based on "property budget" which is never shared or explained to anyone. This company is interested in bending over backwards for prospects who are irrational and ask for entirely outlandish things, and then the best part is they give people whatever they want out of fear that they are going to receive a bad yelp review, and then go after the employee that was just trying to follow the actual policy! They BEG employees to obtain good reviews for the property and on sites like Glassdoor because an internet appearance is all they care about. If you are a fresh-out-of-college graduate looking for your first job, I would do this if you have absolutely no alternative because it is a paycheck. Keep looking elsewhere because this place is a trap. You are a customer service associate in every capacity, and to Bozzuto, the customer is ALWAYS right, and they will jump at the opportunity to wipe the floor with anyone lower than "Property Manager". They have me CONVINCED with out a doubt that management finds pleasure in reprimanding employees. I understand that Bozzuto is this huge, rapidly growing, objectively successful company. This review is not some immature, fact-free complaint about how bitter and unfair ways of how the world works. This is the perspective of someone who worked here and was viewed as someone who should just "shut up and do their job", but I became fed up with it, and it is wrong that site employees that are "so important" to Bozzuto feel inclined to keep their mouths shut out of fear of retaliation.

Pros

-The company is growing and more opportunities are becoming available. The base salary is competitive with the industry standards. -Some of my co workers have become my family. -In my experience, your manager can either make or break your experience. -You are never bored and time goes by fast. -Decent PTO program. -Company values are excellent and Bozzuto has a great reputation in the industry.

Cons

-Better bonus commission -Horrible work/life balance. You are expected to answer phone calls and texts on your days off. -Cliquish -Promotions are usually pre picked and based on favoritism, not who deserves it. Most of the time managers know who will be selected for promotions before the job is even posted. I don't think this is fair at all. -Constant unnecessary changes on site. The property managers like to take credit for all the success and hard work the sales and marketing associates do. It is pretty common for managers to throw you under the bus in order to save themselves. They will blame you for everything in order not to look bad in front of residents and their regional. - Stressful and long hours. In my opinion, pay is not enough for the amount of work you have to do. You will almost always stay after hours and will never get paid overtime. Good luck asking your manager for OT, they will probably laugh in your face. -I find it interesting that is nearly impossible to find the HR number to make a formal complaint. Why is that?

Pros

Great healthcare benefits You get to meet a lot of people The staff is diverse Growing company with a good reputation in the industry

Cons

Bozzuto boasts about being a top place to work, and I hear it’s great at the corporate office, however the employees working on site at properties have to deal with a lot of different policies. Corporate gets to enjoy holidays while on-site staff has to work Christmas Eve, Easter, and other major holidays! They also have to work when it snows. The pay is too low for the amount of work required and bonuses are only good if your property is meeting budget. The schedule is inconsistent (you work different days each week, and it changes between 8-5, 9-6, and 10-7) You are technically scheduled shorter hours on the weekend but there’s no lunch break allowed & if you work at a busy property you will be staying late just to catch up with paperwork. Some regional managers are great, but I had one who was very rude and condescending. She actually made her employees cry and she talked about them behind their back. There is a lot of favoritism and an "in crowd."
