Great place to work, mostly because of the people.
Pros
I have felt very comfortable here from day one. Everyone in the Raleigh office gets treated as an equal, and is respected, no matter where you are on the totem pole. There are occasionally opportunities to socialize outside of office hours, which is actually quite enjoyable, and does not feel awkward like your typical "company party". Also, there are team building exercises that everyone enjoys, like the yearly weekend rafting trip, or bowling after one of our quarterly meetings. There are occasionally some long working hours for management, supervisors, and estimators, but B&G also understands that family time is important. Children have even been allowed to come to work with their mom or dad if necessary, and family members are always welcome to visit the office. There is very high value placed upon jobsite safety, as well as personal and professional morals, values, and integrity. We also have frequent charity events - blood drives, food drives, charity walks/runs, building for Habitat for Humanity, etc. Employees along with their entire families get involved in these community projects. It's great!
Cons
It would be great if B&G would start a program of tuition reimbursement for those of us looking to continue or expand our educations. Right now, such a program is not available.
