Great mission, tough but rewarding work

Pros

Lots of room for learning and growth, great mission, organization has a good track record of success, they invest in their employees through trainings, conferences, etc. Great benefits including comp time and reimbursement for professional development.

Cons

Know that this is a large, bureaucratic organization, so it runs like one. Lots of levels of management, and the majority of strategic and even day-to-day directives come from way above the level of the chapter staff.

Pros

Most employees are extremely passionate about their work. The volunteers that you work with are great. JDRF is changing the game in T1D care and research.

Cons

Long hours, little pay. Disconnect between national and chapter offices. Often keep people in place that are not fit for the current positions.
