Pros

Lots of training, tries to support diversity and inclusion, has quarterly bonuses

Cons

HR has too much power, not as transparent as they claim to be, common product problems, toxic work environments due to manager limitations, bonus are heavily taxed, raises are only 25 cents to a dollar added per year, and long hours (9-10 hour days, excluding unpaid lunch).

Pros

The pros have dwindled over my 3 years being employed here… They do invest in good technology/systems that can support the business growing. If you have a good manager, they’ll shield you from the insane micromanagement of senior leadership and let you get your job done. There are surprisingly quite a few really good middle managers in the company who haven’t been stomped out by the micromanagement yet. If you drink the kool-aid and talk-the-talk, make it look like you’re doing what senior leadership sees as ‘good work’ then you’ll get a new job title each year during performance reviews. They offer benefits for continued education and learning opportunities (but good luck trying to find time to use them with your workload.)

Cons

While they’re investing in good technology for the growth of the business, they have no comprehension of the human side of technology. Both from the tech side with maintaining and enhancing a system and from the user side with creating user-centric workflows. Classic, outdated “set it and forget it” mentality because they don’t want to invest in the human capital needed to proactively manage and maintain a tech tool and user documentation. The workload has gotten so unmanageable over the past few years for most individual contributors in the corporate teams. They just keep coming up with new job titles in an attempt to compensate for the workload instead of hiring an additional team member to split your workload with. And when you take time off, there’s no one else that can help cover any of your tasks because no one else knows how to do those things which causes so much anxiety about taking time off. Your manager wants to help you but they’re so swamped with their own workload so then you feel bad even asking them for help.
