      OK for a Summer Job

      Pros

      I took a job at Build-A-Bear for the summer and the people there were pretty nice. The more experienced staff was more than happy to help explain company policy and protocol.

      Cons

      I got very few shifts; because they were short, I didn't make that much for the coming school year. And while some of the kids could be very sweet, there are always the few that are hard to handle. You'll have to learn how to manage birthday parties. In my experience, I had kids hit me and their party guests with their bears and just generally be uncooperative. Parents, including the birthday kids, will drop their kid off and high tail it to the food court, so they are little to no help reigning them in.

      Pros

      Great coworkers, awesome managers, pretty good discount, fun environment, great working with people of all ages, some very touching moments.

      Cons

      Few hours to go around because everyone wants to work there, and most people stay for years. Corporate can be a little strict and occasionally like to scare employees to keep their numbers up rather than encourage them, but this is rare.

      Pros

      Best management I have ever experienced, working with kids is never dull or upsetting. Even when you have a bad day, you won't be sad for one moment in the workshop.

      Cons

      Sometimes breaks got a little iffy, and you can't except tips for parties =[
