Pros

I had 5 years as a ATM Customer Engineer with NCR before I was hired by the Burroughs DM in Ohio. He was one of the best managers I've worked with in 30 years in IT, truely empathized with the technicians daily demands and limits. The wage is better than what NCR offers without the heartless demands that pushes a technician to the limit, interfering with a normal home life.

Cons

A lot of 'windshiedl time' in NW Ohio/SE Michigan but that comes with the territory. Every other weekend on call, but that has changed recently to every third weekend.

Company car without tracking device.

Cons

Tracking device on vehicle as if you a criminal. No on hands training out in the field once you get certified. No raises for years. Discriminate against blacks. Non skillful whites tech makes $3 to $4 dollars more than skillful black tech. No black managers. Managers talk to you unprofessional. When you get a promotion, you do not get the pay.

Steady work, never missed a family function, working alone, they trust you to do your work without always looking over your shoulder. Sometimes challenging. Tech Support is very good.

Cons

Pay increases are a dark kept bad word that's better not talked about, definitely not keeping up with cost of living. Cares more about bottom line. More reactive than proactive. Sometimes throw techs out to run calls on something they have no idea about
